Flower were most likey the first thing they came to value that had no utilitarian purpose for them “Human”. that is to say, was not linked to survival. They provided inspiration to countless artists, poets, and mystics. Jesus tells us to contemplate the flowers and learn from them how to live. the Buddah is said to have given a “Silent Sermon” once during which he held up a flower and gazed at it. After a while, one of those present, a monk called Mahakasyapa, began to smile He is said to have been the onlie one who had understood the sermon. Accordning to legend, that smile (that is to say, realization) was handed down by twenty eigh sucessive masters and much later became the origin of zen.
Seeing beauty in a flower awaken humans, however breifly, to hte beauty that is an essential part of there own inner being, their true Nature. The first recognition of beauty was one of the must significant events in the evolution of Human consciouness. The feelings of ove and joy are intrinsically connected to that recognition.
They not only had a scent that wes delicated and pleasing to Humans but also brough a fregrance from the realm of hte spirit, using the word “Enlightenment” in a wider sense than the conventionally accepted one, we could look open fowers as the enlightment of plants.
Any life form in any realm – mineral, Vegetable, animal, or human can be said to undergo “Enlightenmet” it is, however, an extremely rare occurrance since it is more than an evolutionanry progresson. it also implies a discontinuity in its development. a leap to an entirely different level of Being and, most important a lessening of materiality.
What could be heavier and more impenetrable than rock, the densest of all forms? And yet some rocks undergo a change in hteir molecular structure, turn into crystals, and so become transparent to light. some carbons under inconceivalbe heat pressure turn into diamonds, and some heavy minerals into precious stones.
3 Things to realize consciousness:
- I didn;t realize that thinking without awareness is the mean delima of Human. life isn’t as serious has my mind makes it out to be.
- I didn’t realize yet that thinking is only a tiny aspect of the consciouness that we are, nor did know anything about ego, let along being able to detect it with in Us/Myself
The Egoic mind is completely condition by the past it’s conditioning is two fold it consists of content and structure.
In the case of a child who cries in deep suffering because his toy has been taken away. the toy represnts content. it is interchangeable withany other content, so as money, house, devices or object. The content you identify with is conditioned by your environment, your upbring and surrounding culture.
whether the child is rich or poor, whether the toy is a piece of wood shaped like an animal or a sophisticated electronic gadget makes no difference as far as the suffering caused by it’s loss is concerned. The reason why such acute suffering occurs is conceald in word “My”, and it is structual. the unconscious compulsion to enhence one’s identity throug association with an object is built into the very structure of egoic mind.
In the case of a youth losing his $7,000 in a Forex Trading, who is regreting, in deep suffering because his money has been taken away, the money $7,000 represent the content, the reason why such acute suffering occurs is concealed in the word “My” and it is structural.
I try to find myslef in things but never quite make it and end up losing myself in them that is the fate of the ego.
When you can no longer fee te life that you are, you are likely to fill up your life with things. As a practice, i suggest that you investigate your relationship with the world of things through slef observation, and in particular, things that are designated with the word “My”.
You need to be alert and honest to find out for example, whether your sense of selfworth is bond up with things you possess.
Do certain things induce a subtle feeling of importance or superiority?
Does the lack of them make you feel inferior to others who have more than you?
Do you casually mention things you own or sow them off to increase you sense of worth in someone else’s eyes and through them in your own?
Do you feel resentful or angry and somehow dimisned in your sense of self when someone else has more than you or when you lose a prized possession?
It is important to recognize hre that the story and the thought forms that make up a story, whetehr people agree with it or not, have absolutely nothing to do with wo you are.
